Apparently A Whole Bunch Of Reality Star Kids Have Been Approached For Next Gen LA

Just when you thought reality TV’s fascination with famous surnames couldn’t sink any deeper, along comes a new wave of speculation for season two of Next Gen — this time, possibly shifting the drama from NYC to LA. But who exactly is in the running, and why is everyone suddenly obsessed with “the kids of”? Get ready, because the rumor mill is buzzing with excitement.

In case you missed it: Next Gen is Bravo’s latest reality series focusing on the grown-up children of reality stars (think Gia Giudice, Riley Burruss, Brooks Marks, and several influencer types) as they try to navigate the challenges of adulthood — complete with group chats and a generous helping of drama. The first season was a huge success, especially in my household, drawing in over 5.4 million viewers after its June premiere, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

What’s this about Next Gen: LA?

Naturally, given the ratings = gold equation, there’s significant buzz about a Los Angeles spin-off, but nothing is set in stone yet. According to TMZ and a growing number of pop culture fan accounts, the production company is exploring the Beverly Hills area to see which celebrity offspring might be interested in joining Next Gen LA. So far: not greenlit, not even pitched to Bravo, but plenty of group chats have definitely been initiated.

Who’s actually involved in Next Gen: LA?

This is where reality TV reaches its peak — lots of “sources say” and very few contracts signed. Alabama and Landon Barker (Travis Barker’s kids, for those who spend more time outside than I do) were reportedly approached but told TMZ it’s a definite no — they’re not joining, so there’s no need to keep checking their Instagram bios.

It seems to be the same for former Disney star Skai Jackson — production sources informed TMZ she was never even asked, despite what TikTok rumors suggest.

So who is rumored? The names circulating are a collection of those with ‘my mum once threw a glass of wine on TV’ vibes:

  • Sophia Umansky: RHOBH’s Kyle Richards’ daughter, and seen on Buying Beverly Hills

  • Sami Sheen: Daughter of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen (the headlines write themselves)

  • Amelia Hamlin: Lisa Rinna’s model daughter, she’s graced numerous high-profile runways

  • Maloof sons: Yes, Adrienne’s triple-threat (Gavin, Christian, Colin)

  • Noelle Robinson: Cynthia Bailey’s daughter, representing the ATL connection

  • Nick Dubrow: Son of Heather Dubrow from RHOC

  • Nia Soux: My Dance Mums alum queen. Imagine if she brought on JoJo Siwa as a friend!

And, just to add fuel to the fire, RHOC’s Shannon Beador’s hairstylist posted an Instagram of Sophie Beador with the hashtag #NextGen, which US Weekly quickly spun into yet another potential-cast narrative.

Next Gen indeed!! (Image: Instagram)

But is any of this real?

Short answer: not formally. No filming has begun, Bravo hasn’t issued any contracts, so basically, it’s a bunch of industry window-shopping… but dreaming big is always encouraged!!
